Busy, busy summer!

Wisconsin State Donkey and Mule Show - June 2011

We attended our state show with Monty, Belle and Sundae. Our niece, Katelyn, age 8, and Jill's sister, Tara, came along and helped with the donkeys. We also had our friend, Sara, stop by and visit while we were there, helping hold a lead rope every now and then. Katelyn did an outstanding job showing Monty and was the High Point Mini Donkey for 12 & under. Belle and Jill were High Point Mini Donkey for 13 & over. Katelyn and Monty won the Jr. Showmanship, 2nd in Costume, also placing in halter, color halter and leading trail. Belle won the Grand Champion Mini at Halter. We all had a great time!

Wisconsin State Fair - August 2011

In June, we were contacted by the Ag Dept of the Wisconsin State Fair, asking if we would attend the fair as a new exhibit with our miniature donkeys. We agreed to attend, rather than attending the Indiana State Fair Show where we were planning to go that week in August. There have never been donkeys or mules of any size at the Wisconsin State Fair. The public loved our minis and we talked "donkeys" for three days! We were asked many different questions about them and while there, put on two exhibitions each day to talk about them and show what we do with them. We dressed them up in costumes, had them jumping over jumps, walking over obstacles and of course allowing the children to pet them and give them hugs.

We'd like to share some photos showing all the fun we had at the fair with our little beauties. Some of our extended family, which included our two nieces, Katelyn and Makayla, ages 8 and 4, and my sister, Tara, came along with us,,,,thank you so much for helping! We'd also like to thank our special friends that also helped us at the Wisconsin State Fair, Alissa and Austin. Everyone was such big helpers and the donkeys all loved them!

While at the fair we spoke with a couple of the Agriculture Department people about getting a donkey and mule show at the fair for 2012. We were giving paperwork to complete and that has been done and sent in. They will present our proposal for a show, at the November Board meeting and let us know what they decide. We are excited and hope we are able to get a show at the Wisconsin State Fair in 2012! We will keep everyone informed as to our progress!

GREAT NEWS!!

We have our answer and..... THE WISCONSIN STATE FAIR IS HAVING IT'S VERY FIRST MINIATURE DONKEY SHOW IN AUGUST 2012!!!

We are so excited to learn WSF Board has approved having a show! We are inviting all our fellow donkey lovin' friends to come visit Wisconsin and show with us next August!! More news to come!!
